dc.description	The article offers an interpretation of some of the symbolic peculiarities of the Belarusian mythopoetic notions used in Jan Barščeŭski’s (Jan Barszczewski) texts. Central is the mythology of animated sacred space that appears to be both a fullscale actor and an allimportant stage, which determins the movements of the plot and the personages’ characteristics. Along with the presentation of the basic dichotomy of ‘one’s own’ and ‘another’s,’ the contentmetaphoric texture of the stories allows for modelling the ‘domain of nature’ represented by such landscape elements as forests, hills and lakes as well as the ‘domain of culture’ embodied by yards, sanctuaries and taverns. Every locus mentioned in the works of this gifted writer and folklorist shows itself as a unit of an integral cultural sphere, an organic part of the indigenous Belarusian mythopoetic picture of the world.	ru_RU
