Овидий в восприятии Э. Паунда

Abstract

Рассматривается влияние римского поэта Овидия на творчество американского поэта Эзры Паунда (Ezra Pound, 1885–1972), одного из значительных поэтов и критиков XX века, основоположников английского и американского модернизма. Анализируются критико-теоретические работы и литературные произведения американского поэта. Переосмысливается роль творческого наследия Овидия в формировании манеры письма Эзры Паунда.= The article deals with the influence of the Roman poet Ovid to works by the American poet Ezra Pound (1885–1972), one of the most considerable poets and critics of the twentieth century, the founders of English and American modernism. The critical theoretical works of Ezra Pound and the literary works of the American poet have been analyzed. The role of Ovid’s creative heritage in the formation of Pound’s writing style is revised.
