| Abstract: | В статье рассматривается символ дерева в славянском фэнтези М. Семёновой «Валькирия». Автор произведения описывает особенности мировоззрения древних славян, которые осознавали сакральную сущность древа. В статье рассмотрено, как жизнь славянской девушки-воина тесно связана с пространством леса, которое привлекает персонажа-валькирию, отождествляющую себя с елью-шатром; злая береза, произрастающая на отшибе, в свою очередь, символизирует избранника героини. Повествование о произрастающих в лесу деревьях позволяет М. Семёновой рассказать о многообразии верований и обычаев, связанных с елью, берёзой, черёмухой, которые могут приобрести амбивалентную символику. |
| metadata.local.description.annotation: | The article deals with the symbol of the tree in M. Semyonova's Slavic fantasy ‘Valkyrie’. The author of the novel describes the features of the worldview of the ancient Slavs, who were aware of the sacred nature of the tree. The article considers how the life of a Slavic warrior-girl is closely connected with the space of the forest. It attracts the Valkyrie character, who identifies herself with a fir-tree; the evil birch growing in the middle of nowhere, in turn, symbolizes the heroine’s beloved. The story about the trees growing in the forest allows M. Semyonova to accentuate the variety of beliefs and customs associated with the fir-tree, the birch, the bird cherry, which can acquire ambivalent symbolism. |
