dc.description.abstract	В статье анализируется драматический сюжетный конфликт между группой «европеизированных американцев», ярых приверженцев светских устоев британского образца, и юной малообразованной девушкой из американской «глубинки» Дейзи Миллер, по неведению невинно нарушающей негласные светские условности, за что она подвергается ими остракизму. Влюбленный в нее «ученый» Уинтерборн, утративший за годы, проведенные в Европе, национальную идентичность, как и свойственный американцам дух свободы и независимости от чужого мнения, не смог ни оправдать Дейзи в их глазах, ни защитить ее, поскольку уже давно сам потерял связь с американской действительностью и был не в состоянии правильно оценить сложившуюся ситуацию и понять истинную причину ее столь независимого естественного поведения.	ru_RU

dc.description.alternative	The paper comprises a dramatic plot conflict between the colony of the «Europeanized Americans», zealous adherents of the unshakable high society manners of the British origin, and an «uncultivated» young girl from the American «interior» Daisy Miller, innocently breaking their conventions, therefore she was subjected to ostracism. A love-sick intelligent Winterbourn having lost within the years of studying in Europe national identity as well the American spirit of freedom and independence, was unable either to justify Daisy in the eyes of his compatriots or defend her as he had not been keeping in touch with the American real life for many years and also happened to form the incorrect estimate of the situation arised as well as of the reasons for the girl’s easy natural behavior in their society. Thus the potential difference of their national identity inherent in the heroes of the nouvelle becomes the plot-forming category and the dramatic conflict leads to the tragic outcome of the events described.	ru_RU
