Элегии Секста Проперция в творчестве Эзры Паунда

Abstract

Рассмотрены элегические произведения древнеримского поэта Секста Проперция (Sextus Propertius, ок. 50 – ок. 16 до н.э.) в творчестве американского поэта Эзры Паунда (Ezra Pound, 1885–1972). Э. Паунд обращается к творческому наследию Проперция, поскольку его привлекает нежелание римского поэта пропагандировать идеи Августа, его стремление дистанцироваться от общественной деятельности и обратиться к частной жизни, выражая дух своего времени и отстаивая творческую независимость. Творчество Проперция соответствовало художественным ориентирам Э. Паунда, поэтому он обращается к наследию римского поэта, используя фрагменты цитат из его элегий, переводя произведения Проперция с достоверной точностью, не искажая смысл подлинника. Посвященная римскому поэту поэма «Оммаж Сексту Проперцию» становится определяющей для творчества американского поэта, а слово «оммаж», вынесенное поэтом в заглавие поэмы, – связующим звеном между римской элегией и современной поэзией.= the article deals with the elegiac works of the ancient Roman poet Sextus Propertius (about 50 – about 16 A.D.) in the works by the American poet Ezra Pound (1885–1972). E. Pound turns to the creative heritage of Propertius, because he is attracted by the reluctance of the Roman poet to propagate the ideas of Augustus, his desire to distance himself from social activities and turn to private life, expressing the spirit of his time and defending his creative independence. Creativity of Properius was consistent with E. Pound’s artistic orientations, so he refers to the heritage of the Roman poet, using fragments of quotations from his elegies, translating the works of Propertius with reliable accuracy, without distorting the meaning of the original. In honor of the Roman poet, Pound dedicates the poem «Homage to Sextus Propertius», which became the defining factor for the work of American poet, and the word «homage», which the poet made into the title of the poem, is the link between the Roman elegies and modern poetry.
