Abstract

Рассматривается концепция «periplum» в творчестве американского поэта Эзры Паунда. Паундовский неологизм «periplum» используется в эпической поэме «Кантос» (Cantos, 1915 – 1962) и является определяющим для всего паундовского творчества. Впервые упомянув данное слово в «Азбуке чтения» (ABC of Reading, 1934), Паунд как бы задал тон всему последующему творческому пути, определив его как «путешествие вокруг». Мотив плавания за знанием, морского путешествия, странствия, «periplum» – один из ключевых в «Кантос», а образ Одиссея, который проходит через все песни «Кантос», становится связующим звеном для различных тем поэмы.= Considered the concept of «periplum» in the works of the American poet Ezra Pound (1885 – 1972). Pound’s neologism «periplum» is used in the epic poem «Cantos» (1915 – 1962) and is decisive for all Pound’s creativity. First mentioning this word in the ABC of Reading (1934), Pound seemed to set the tone for the whole subsequent creative path, defining it as a «circumnavigation». The motive of sailing after knowledge, sea voyage, travelling, periplum is one of the key in «Cantos», and the image of Odysseus, which passes through all the songs of «Cantos», becomes a link for various themes of the poem.
