Военные мотивы в городской геральдике Беларуси XVI – XVIII вв.

Abstract

Рассматривается происхождение и семантика городских гербов Беларуси XVI–XVIII вв., несущих в своих полях изображения военных атрибутов (оборонительной архитектуры и оружия). Приведены и проанализированы варианты классификации городских гербов различных авторов, в результате чего предложена собственная классификация гербов городов Беларуси рассматриваемого периода. В городской геральдике представлены гербы архитектонической (4 ед.), религиозной (6 ед.), владельческой (1), аллегорической (4) групп, а также два представителя группы «Другие гербы». Приведены описания рассматриваемых образцов, проанализированы некоторые спорные точки зрения, а также сделан вывод о соответствии гербовых сюжетов духу времени в контексте истории Великого Княжества Литовского и Речи Посполитой XVI – XVIII вв.= The origin and semantics of the city coats of arms of Belarus of the 16th – 18th centuries, which carry images of military attributes (defensive architecture and weapons) in their fields, are considered. Variants of classification of city coats of arms of various authors are presented and analyzed, as a result of which a proper classification of coats of arms of Belarusian cities of the period under consideration is proposed. In urban heraldry, there are coats of arms of architectonic (4 units), religious (6 units), owner (1), allegorical (4) groups, as well as two representatives of the “Other coats of arms” group. Descriptions of the samples under consideration are given, some controversial points of view are analyzed, and a conclusion is made about the correspondence of the coat of arms to the spirit of the times and the circumstances of the history of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the Rechi Pospolitoj of the 16th – 18th centuries.
