| Abstract: | The article deals with the analysis of ellipsis in informal style; a special attention is focused on the phenomenon of conversational English. The research provides an account of the different contexts, both linguistic and situational ones, which affect its use. The article is intended to conduct a linguistic analysis of the famous feature film “Runaway bride”, showing how ellipsis, in its different types, functions in colloquial speech. |
