| Abstract: | Рассматривается образ замка в рассказе английского писателя и поэта О. Уайльда (Oscar Fingal O’Flahertie Wills Wilde, 1854–1900) «Кентервильское привидение» (The Canterville Ghost, 1887). Отмечается влияние готической традиции на творчество О. Уайльда при описании основного места действия. Анализируется готический хронотоп и образ привидения, являющегося в контексте рассказа жертвой обстоятельств. Обращается внимание на готические элементы повествования и вещный мир произведения. Устанавливается, что замок является метафорой старой Англии, а также границей реального и фантастического. |

It notes the influence of the Gothic tradition on the work of Oscar Wilde and the description of the main setting. The article analyzes the Gothic chronotope and the image of a ghost, which is a victim of circumstances in the context of the short story. It pays attention to the Gothic elements of the narrative and the material world of the work. It is established that the castle is a metaphor for old England, as well as the border between the real and the fantastic. |
