| Abstract: | В статье представлены итоги натурных исследований второго этажа здания бывшего «Бристоля». С помощью зондажей стен и последовавшего позднее полного удаления штукатурки с несущих стен помещений здания исследователем был прослежен ряд масштабных перепланировок внутри здания, связанных с приспособлением его под квартиры. В ходе проведенных работ были прослежены остатки первоначальных дверных проёмов. Также благодаря доступным фотоснимкам Полоцка начала ХХ в. стало возможным уточнить время возведения здания и выявить ряд его утраченных архитектурных элементов (ломаную крышу с мансардным этажом и шатровыми завершениями углов), объясняющих характер архитектурного убранства его главных фасадов, обращённых на угол ул. Вознесенской/Сакко и Ванцетти/Ленина и ул. Спасской/Советской. |
| metadata.local.description.annotation: | The article presents the results of field studies of the second floor of the former Bristol Hotel building. Using wall probes and later completely removing the plaster from the building's load-bearing walls, the researcher traced a series of large-scale renovations within the building that were related to its conversion into apartments. During the work carried out, the remains of the original doorways were traced. Additionally, thanks to the available photographs of Polotsk from the early 20th century, it became possible to determine the time of construction of the building and identify a number of its lost architectural elements (a broken roof with an attic floor and tent-shaped corners), which explain the architectural design of its main facades facing the corner of Voznesenskaya/Sako i Vantsetti/Lenina streets and Spasskaya/Sovetskaya streets. |
