Диалог с библией в живописи и музыке англо-американского модернизма

Abstract

На примере творчества У. Льюиса и Б. Бриттена исследуется культурологическая проблематика диалога с Библией в живописи и музыке англо-американского модернизма. Обосновывается идея, что в живописи Льюиса диалог с Библией осуществляется через сюжеты о творении мира, о трех мироносицах, через образ Бога-Творца и мифологему Земли Обетованной; его образы и сюжеты тесно связаны со смещением фокуса в системе культурных ценностей с Запада к Востоку, от монотеизма к политеизму. Написанные на библейские сюжеты о потопе, о трех отроках в печи огненной и о блудном сыне оперные произведения Бриттена раскрывают диалог с Библией через характерные традиции средневековой литургии. Оставаясь центральной темой в творчестве модернистов, библейские сюжеты объединяют вокруг себя аллюзии различных культур, в том числе восточных. = This article is devoted to the dialogue with the Bible in art and music of Anglo-American modernism on the examples of W. Lewis and B. Britten’s works. In Lewis’s art the dialogue with the Bible is realized by the plot of world’s creation, the plot of women who brought anoitments to Christ’s tomb, the image of God-Сreator and the mythologeme of the promised land. All this is closely related to the shift of cultural focal point from West to East and from monotheism to polytheism. Britten’s operas are made on the plots of flood, three boys in the burning furnace and the prodigal son. The dialogue with the Bible is also manifested through the elements of medieval liturgy. Being the center of the operas, the biblical plots integrate around themselves allusions on different cultures including allusions on the East in wide meaning.
