Abstract: The Viking age had very important significance for Great Britain. During that time a lot of Scandinavian settlements were created on the territory of Albion; Old Danish and Old Norse influenced the language which we call nowadays English greatly. And even the national British heroic epic poem “Beowulf” has the Scandinavian origin.
