Итоги археологического изучения внутреннего двора Полоцкого иезуитского коллегиума в 2018 г.

Abstract

В статье предлагаются результаты археологического изучения Полоцкого иезуитского коллегиума в 2018 г. С помощью шурфов автором была проведена проверка своей гипотезы по наличию у полоцкого иезуитского коллегиума со стороны рыночной площади в последней четверти XVII – первой четверти XVIII вв. монументальной кирпичной ограды, имевшей фортификационное назначение. Данная гипотеза не подтвердилась. Была прослежена стратиграфия напластований отложившихся в ходе строительства зданий иезуитского коллегиума в XVII – XVIII вв. и его перестройки под кадетский корпус. С помощью шурфов была выявлена неизвестная ранее хозяйственная постройка, исполнявшая роль ограды ансамбля в последней четверти XVII – первой четверти XVIII вв. При раскопках выявлен ряд уникальных артефактов связанных как с архитектурой ансамбля, так и с материальной культурой полоцких иезуитов. Среди них остатки набора фигурного оконного стекла, неизвестный до сих пор образец карнизного изразца, имеющий аналогии в Вильне, штукатурные профили, католический медальон с редким сюжетом.=The article proposes the results of an archaeological study of Polotsk Jesuit College in 2018. Using the dug pits, the author tested his hypothesis on the existence of the monumental brick fence around Polotsk Jesuit College in the last quarter of the 17th – first quarter of the 18th centuries, which had a fortification purpose from the side of the market square. This hypothesis was not confirmed. The stratigraphy of the strata deposited during the construction of the buildings of the Jesuit College in the 17th–18th centuries and its restructuring into the Cadet School was traced. Using the pits, a previously unknown outbuilding was revealed, which played the role of the ensemble's fence in the last quarter of the 17th – first quarter of the 18th centuries. During the excavations, a number of unique artifacts related to both the architecture of the ensemble and the material culture of Polotsk Jesuits were revealed. Among them there are the remains of a set of figured window glass, a hitherto unknown sample of a cornice tile that has analogies in Vilna, plaster profiles, a Catholic medallion with a rare plot.
